When we write a date for a particular day in a year, we mention three parts: the day
(number), the month and the year.

            examples: a. 3rd February, 2016 or February 3, 2016
                            b. 10th March, 2017 or March 10, 2017

                            c. 31st July, 2018 or July 31, 2018

In mathematics, dates are often written in a different format. In India, we write

14th March 2026 as 14/03/26 which is the DD/MM/YY pattern but the same date in USA
is written as 03/14/26 which is the MM/DD/YY pattern. Here D = Day, M = Month and
            Y = Year.

            We remember many important days.

                Independence Day = 15th August

                Republic Day = 26th January

                Gandhi Jayanti = 2nd October

                Teacher’s Day = 5th September

There are many important days in mathematics that we celebrate.
22nd December = National Mathematics Day

14th March = World Pi Day

22nd July = Pi Approximation Day

We write a date as a group of three numbers separated by dots or slashes (/). The

first number shows the day, the second shows the month and the third shows the
            year.

example: 15th August, 1947 shall be written in the short form as:

                                        15 . 08 . 47 (DD/MM/YY)

                                       Day Month Year

                                                    or

                                        15 / 08 / 1947 (DD/MM/YYYY)

                                       Day Month Year
